Hiaku Poems

“Haiku” is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme.

Here are my poems

Spring is here today
The flowers are blossoming
Down on the green grass

Things are everywhere
Winds are blowing them away
Rough, raging, mean winds

Science goes KABOOM!
Some chemistry won’t hurt much
Everyone knows this

Cats, dog, birds, horses
Everyone loves pets so much
Be good and adopt

You like basketball
I like basketball a lot
Everyone can play

Cause & Effect

Cause and effect is when is an event happens and something follows eg. I didn’t bring my homework in (Cause) I got in trouble (Effect)

Today we watched a YouTube video and we made a table writing down all of the causes and effects in the video.image

Here is my table!

Montmorency Leadership Day

Yesterday all the Grade 5 students went on a trip to Montmorency Secondary College. We were all split up into coloured groups and I was in RED! In our groups we had two student leaders from Monty taking us to each activity.

Throughout the day we went to ten activities were we had to use different strategies to complete them including, Initiative,                    Co-operation, Teamwork and lots more.

I really enjoyed yesterday and I think my fellow Grade 5 students enjoyed it as well.

How To Tie Your Shoelaces

Today we made a procedure about how to tie your shoelaces.

We had to follow the steps and take photos of every step. Then we inserted the photos in to the table above.
